The goal of the Connect Antigua & Barbuda Initiative is to make ICTs available to the residents and citizens of Antigua and Barbuda through various ICT initiatives. The program currently serves the various communities and schools through the provision of Community Technology Officers, Community Computer Access Centers (CACs) and Mobile IT Classrooms.

Classes are held in the CACs and Mobile Classrooms, and are conducted by the Community Technology Officers. Classes are offered in the following areas:

  • Introduction to Computers for schools and community
  • Intermediate Computing for community
  • Advanced Computing for community

Cadets will be given real-world work experience in the Community Computer Access Centers (CACs) and Mobile IT Classrooms as Community Technology Officers. The Cadets will:

  • Gain practical knowledge in maintaining networks and operating systems.
  • Gain practical experience in troubleshooting.
  • Assist users of the CACs to navigate around the computers and basic programmes, e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Complete a series of self-taught modules and assignments.

Computer Repairs, Upgrades and Diagnostics
Cadets will work alongside hardware technicians and acquire practical hands-on skills.
Support for Community Projects
Get valuable work experience in maintaining various community projects and programs.
New Media
Gain experience in digital media production.
